Winnie Takes Her First Career Win in Sofia
11 October 2026
Winnie Jebet delivered a breakthrough performance at the Sofia Marathon, winning the race in 2:27:50 and setting a new course record.
The Kenyan athlete ran a composed and well‑timed race, passing the midway mark in 1:13:37 before making a decisive move after 30 km. She crossed the finish line more than seven minutes ahead of her closest competitor.
The triumph marks the first marathon victory of Winnie’s career. Having joined the Depar Management family in March this year, the 28‑year‑old produced a remarkable improvement in Sofia, lowering her personal best by nearly twelve minutes.
